Bespoke Programmingin-innovative navigation GmbH was contracted by the Agency for Inland Waterway Traffic Technology (ABVT, Amt für Binnen-Verkehrstechnik ) of the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV, Wasserstraßen– und Schifffahrtsverwaltung des Bundes) with a central modernisation project in the field of digital maritime traffic technology.
The existing server infrastructure of the AIS system in inland waterways will be comprehensively upgraded and adapted to current technical requirements. The inland AIS system forms an essential basis for shore-based traffic detection, traffic monitoring and navigation on federal waterways, supporting applications such as fairway and traffic information services, traffic management and safety-related services for collision avoidance.
The aim of the newly contracted measures is the long-term further development of traffic technical systems for inland waterways, as envisioned in the Traffic Technology Strategy 2030 of the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV, Bundesministerium für Verkehr). The project aims to sustainably secure and strengthen the availability, integrity and flexibility of the AIS system and to create a solid foundation for future digital applications.
The scope of services includes, among other things, the migration, configuration and software upgrade of regional and central AIS servers, system integration, as well as on-site installation and commissioning.
